Your new role
This role involves managing contracts throughout the construction process, requiring formal qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Law, and experience as a Contracts Administrator, or Project Engineer / Project Manager.
Essential skills include analysing and understanding commercial conditions, interpreting Australian Standard Contracts AS4000 and AS2124, and complying with statutory regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are critical, along with the ability to work independently and effectively influence the Project Team.
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proficient in contract administration, risk management and project documentation
- In-depth/general knowledge of legislation, rules, regulations and standards relating to building sites (e.g., industrial relations, WHS and Environmental, Workcover, local government etc)
- Understanding of project programming (particularly in relation to project deliverables and schedules)
- Understanding of tasks and activities of a wide variety of building trades
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Intermediate-Advanced Microsoft skills (Word, Excel and Projects)
- Experience with Procore, Aconex or similar
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Financial and Job Cost Accounting Knowledge
What you'll need to succeed
- Formal qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction and or a Legal Degree
- Construction Whitecard
- Experience in Contract Administration / Project Management in the Australian construction industry.
- Experience in the management of remedial construction projects (including planning, programming and the management of subcontractors and site labour). Multi-residential dwellings or commercial buildings preferred.
- Experience in remedial works or façade repairs / cladding replacement will be highly regarded.
